Tea Eggs

You will need:

  • Small saucepan, just big enough for 6 eggs
  • Anise Seed – 1 tsp.(or more if you really like anise flavor)
  • Cinnamon – 1 stick
  • Whole Clove – 1 Tbls. or approx. 15 cloves
  • Fennel – 1/2 tsp.
  • Garlic – 2 cloves
  • Soy Sauce – 4 Tbls.
  • Water – 3 cups
  • Black Tea – 1 individual bag
  • Eggs – 6

Place everything into saucepan except eggs; bring to a boil.
With back of a spoon, lightly tap shells to crack the surface of the eggs to create marble effect.
Add eggs; lower temp to low; simmer 1hr. or more.
Turn heat off; allow to sit a few hours or overnight.
Reheat; serve.
